Accounting firms in Los Angeles pay $39.99 to $59.99 per user per month for our managed IT services, and cybersecurity is included in the price. Hands-on support costs $150 per hour, billed in 15-minute increments, whether it happens remotely or at your office.

The plans in brief

  • Basic, $39.99 per user: Email security, Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace backup, security awareness training, phishing simulations, dark web monitoring, and a password manager.
  • Professional, $49.99 per user: Everything in Basic, plus monitoring, backup, patching, next-gen antivirus, ransomware detection, and endpoint detection and response on every computer.
  • Enterprise, $59.99 per user: Everything in Professional, plus 24/7 managed detection and response.

Firms that prepare tax returns usually need Professional at minimum. Returns and financial statements are opened on staff computers every day, and the rules that apply to tax preparers expect those devices to be protected.

What a typical firm pays

A 12-person firm on the Professional plan pays about $600 per month before support hours.

What happens in tax season

Pricing is per user and every plan is month to month, so your bill follows your headcount. When you bring on seasonal preparers in January, you add those users. When they leave in April, you remove them. You don’t pay for empty seats through the summer.

What we don’t charge for

  • Setup or onboarding.
  • A long-term contract.
  • Time spent on an issue we couldn’t fix.

Accountants tend to read invoices closely, so ours are plain: a per-user fee, plus support time billed in 15-minute increments.

Send us your year-round headcount and your peak-season headcount, and we’ll quote both.

We protect client tax and financial data with security that is included in every plan and applied to each place that data sits: inboxes, computers, cloud accounts, and backups.

Accounting firms hold exactly what criminals want. A single client folder can contain Social Security numbers, bank details, and prior-year returns, which is enough to file a fraudulent return or open credit in someone’s name. Attacks also peak when you’re busiest. Here is how we defend against the most common ones:

  • Phishing emails posing as clients or the IRS: Advanced email security filters them out, and phishing simulations train your staff to recognize the ones that look convincing.
  • Stolen passwords: A password manager gives every login a unique password, and dark web monitoring alerts us if staff credentials appear for sale.
  • Ransomware: Next-gen antivirus, ransomware detection, and endpoint detection and response stop it on the device. Patch management closes the gaps it relies on.
  • Account takeover: Cloud detection and response watches Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace for sign-ins that don’t fit the usual pattern.
  • Lost or failed devices: Device and cloud backups mean client files and work papers can be restored.

Limiting who can see what

We set up access by role, so a seasonal preparer sees the clients assigned to them and nothing else. When someone leaves, their access is removed promptly.

If something does go wrong

You have a recovery plan and current backups, and your firm keeps full admin access and documentation of its own systems.

Device protection begins with the Professional plan, and Enterprise adds 24/7 managed detection and response. We start with an audit that shows where client data is exposed today.

Yes. We put the required technical safeguards in place, document them, and help you prepare the written information security plan the IRS expects every tax preparer to have.

What the rules ask for

Under federal law, tax preparers are treated as financial institutions. The FTC Safeguards Rule requires them to protect client information, and the IRS asks preparers to confirm they have a written information security plan, often called a WISP, when they renew their PTIN. IRS Publication 4557 sets out the safeguards it expects.

What we take care of

  • Multi-factor authentication: Set up on email, cloud accounts, and remote access.
  • Encryption: Applied to laptops and to data in transit and at rest where your systems support it.
  • Access controls: Each person has their own login and only the access their role needs.
  • Monitoring and logging: Devices and cloud accounts are watched for unusual activity.
  • Staff training: Security awareness training and phishing simulations, with records you can show.
  • Backup and recovery: Tested backups and a plan for getting back to work.

How we help with the WISP

A WISP describes your risks, your safeguards, and who is responsible for them. We supply the technical sections: an inventory of your systems, the protections in place, and how incidents are handled. You add the firm-specific parts, such as naming the person in charge of the program.

Where our role ends

We aren’t lawyers, and we can’t certify that your firm complies. What we do is make sure the technology matches what your plan says, and that you have the documentation to prove it if a client, an insurer, or a regulator asks.

If you already have a WISP, send it over. We’ll compare it with your actual setup and tell you where the two don’t match.

Yes. We plan your IT around the tax calendar so the heavy work is done before January and nothing risky happens between February and April.

  • Before the season: We replace failing hardware, apply major updates, check backups, and set up accounts for seasonal staff.
  • During the season: We hold non-urgent changes, keep monitoring running, and prioritize anything that stops returns going out.
  • After the deadline: We remove seasonal accounts, review what went wrong, and schedule upgrades for the quiet months.

If something breaks anyway, our average response time is 14 minutes, and 85% of issues are resolved on the first call. Most are fixed remotely. When hands-on work is needed, an engineer is dispatched to your Los Angeles office the same day.

The same approach applies to your other deadlines, including extension season in the fall and quarterly and year-end close. Tell us your firm’s busy periods when you sign up, and we’ll build the maintenance schedule around them.

Yes. Tax and accounting software depends on what sits underneath it: a healthy computer, enough memory, a stable network, and the right permissions. We look after all of that, install the new version each tax year, and add or remove users as your team changes. When the fault is in the program itself, we call the vendor so your staff don’t have to. Give us your software list and we’ll confirm what we cover before you sign.

Yes, and timing is the main decision. The easiest months to switch are May through December. If you’re mid-season and your current provider is letting you down, we can still take over support right away and leave the larger changes until after the deadline.

Either way, the steps are the same:

  1. Audit: We review your systems and typically have security tools, monitoring, and documentation in place within 24 to 48 hours.
  2. Handover: We collect admin passwords, licenses, and documentation from your outgoing provider.
  3. Stabilize: We fix what is failing now.
  4. Improve: Upgrades and bigger projects are scheduled for your quiet months.

Your team gets one number to call from the first day, and anything that could interrupt work is done outside office hours.

There is no onboarding fee and no long-term contract, and you keep full admin access to your own systems. Check the notice period in your existing agreement, which is often 30 to 90 days. Our five-year client retention rate is 97%.

Yes. Remote and seasonal staff get the same help desk and the same protection on their computers as everyone in the office. Because plans are per user and month to month, you can add preparers for the season and remove them afterward. We set up their accounts with only the access they need and close those accounts when their work ends.
